Should I ask out this guy? (High school girl)

A little background to help you understand my situation. The guy in question is popular, no doubt about it, but not so much so that its 100% ridiculous for me to even be asking this. As for me Id say i'm very average, friendly with a lot of people and pretty well known, but kind of poked fun at by a lot of the popular kids girls and boys about silly stuff-sometimes seriously but for the most part jokingly just because im talkative and more out there than most. Looks wise he is exceedingly attractive and I would say I'm quite average-fit as Im an athlete but otherwise pretty typical girl. I moved to this school district 2 years ago so my situation is unique to most as many of these kids have known each other for 5-10 years some since kindergarten. This means its really hard to play catch up on connections. So the story with the guy is right before school got out he gave me his number-jokingly and i thought most likely a dare and said to call him. I did out of curiosity and we had a non inspiring phone call where i pretty much learned nothing. After that however, we had a pretty long text conversation that consisted of basic stuff in addition to him being super sarcastic (as a joke i hope/think) but generally being pretty funny. Since then we have texted on occasion, though when we do its pretty long convos and after asking him directly he said he gave me his number not as a joke but to "Spice it up" ik really cringy but he was being kinda sarcastic. However the predicament is he has not added me back on socials, and as of now, completely ignored my last text asking how his day was for 3 days. So honestly if youve made it this far if you have any advice, or have any input on whether you think he is completely making fun of me or actually could be casually interested let me know. And finally, if I'm feeling particularly delusional, should I call him and ask if hed ever be interested in hanging out? (and if so got any casual suggestions for someone whos interests you dont know too well?) Thank you so much you are saving my delusional butt <3
