How does one make friends as an adult

I 23f is struggling socially I have maybe 1 friend that actually messages me back. My other so called friend won't answer for up to 2 months at a time and claim she doesn't have time to talk to anyone and god if you try to make conversation it's awful cause she won't text back for another month. I don't really fit in with most crowds like my group in highschool was all anime nerds and chronically online in a million fandoms type of crowd. Where do I find those type of ppl? I feel so alone and pathetic
