Is expecting my partner to have empathy and soft spot for me unreasonable?

The question is literally the post. I recently broke up with my boyfriend bcz of how much empathy he lacked for me and how my tears meant nothing to him. Usually when I cry the people around me drop everything to tend to me, especially the guys that are interested in me. My boyfriend didn't even bother to reply and just said goodnight after I sent him a crying voice message for support after a petty argument in the morning which turned into a big after his cold and heartless response from the first petty one? I told him each time he asked me what I was doing after the fight that his words hurt me, not just once but 4 times. This is not the first time he has done this. Emotionally im defeated. I need to understand if I was unreasonable?
