What kind of plot use for high-rise residential or mixed-use buildings do you prefer, [older style](https://i.imgur.com/0YQ8MH3.png) where the buildings are at the edge of the block leaving a courtyard of some kind in the middle, or the more [modern style](https://i.imgur.com/AGIQu1d.png) where the buildings are in the middle?
I think the former is more cozy when you’re on the street, the more tight and packed feel just feels more lively. But the latter does without a doubt offer a lot more green space. [Here’s an example from my city](https://i.imgur.com/pxywhWT.png), where the zoning starts to change from the more modern style on the right to the more traditional style on the left. It’s clearly visible how much more green the right is, even without the big park in the middle. But whenever I’m in the district on the right it just feels too open.
I have seen that Mark Rutte has been elected NATO General Secretary. I don’t know the guy, but I am pretty sure he was the one who told AKP’s minions to not run their election campaigns in public spaces of The Netherlands. And I have seen a video of him where he was having a calm discussion with Trump without punching him square on the nose. So those two things may be in his favour. He can set boundaries and put up with the likes of Trump to a certain degree.
Spanish and Italian players are usually prone to diving, so when they play against each other, it’s a little unbearable sometimes 😑 but in general Spain seems to be on fire and Italy somehow managed to not fuck up too badly. I don’t remember ever seeing this many own goals in a tournament before, though. OG will get the Golden Boot if it goes on like this.
Dhaka observation for today.
The people are incredibly friendly here! I must have had my photo taken about 50 times today… and nearly everyone asks permission and wants to take a photo together.
It’s an interesting case of a place with almost no tourists but plenty of technology,a lot of people have a cellphone here.
It’s cherry season, yay! Cherry picking is hard, repetitive work, but then again you’re outdoors eating cherries, so it’s not so bad in the end.
What is pretty terrible is having the song “Chéri chéri lady” stuck in your head the whole time you’re working.
It’s also berry season, and this year I’m trying to make cassis syrup for the first time. I’m envisioning myself spending my summer evenings lounging with a glass of Kir Royal like a fancy person.
So I was challenged to a quiz [to name all the Beatles’ album tracks](https://www.sporcle.com/games/g/beatlessongs), and I barely got to 40 – which seems kind of low for someone generally quite interested in music and rather fond of the band? idk
Though tbf, quite a lot of their famous songs were non-album singles, which don’t get listed there.
