Hey Reddit,

I recently read a post about a guy whose girlfriend left him after he cried in front of her, and it got me thinking. As a man, showing vulnerability can feel like a risk, especially with the societal expectations around masculinity.

I'm curious to hear from other men who have been vulnerable with their significant others. How did it turn out for you? Did it strengthen your relationship, or did it have negative consequences?

Specifically, I'm interested in:

  1. Positive Experiences: If it went well, how did your SO react and how did it affect your relationship?
  2. Negative Experiences: If it didn't go well, what happened and how did you handle it?
  3. Advice: Any tips for men who are hesitant to show vulnerability with their SO?

I'm trying to understand if the negative outcome in that post is a common occurrence or just an unfortunate experience with one person.
