What should I do?
I have just received an invitation to my nieces wedding. The issue is that she is not inviting her mother due to a long standing rift. Her mother is my sister.
I don’t want to be disloyal to my sister and feel terribly for her. I also do not want to miss out on my nieces wedding. What’s the right thing to do? Do I go to the wedding or decline the invitation? Our widowed father has also been invited and is terminally ill so it would usually be expected I accompany him. There is no chance of a reconciliation between mother & daughter. My sister is divorced.
