I (18M) have a crush on my bestfriend (also 18M) and i don’t know what to do

About a month ago i realised i have a crush on my bestfriend. i've known him since we were ten and we're both gay, but i don't think he likes me romantically. I want to tell him but i'm scared it'll ruin our friendship. What should i do?
