  1. I handle my emotions myself. In a relationship, I want my partner to be a kind, loving, empathetic person who supports me throughout my life and is there for me. Handling my emotions isn’t their job, but if they can’t be open and supportive of me in emotional moments, then we aren’t compatible. Emotional intelligence is important to me.

  2. I *want* to be validated and supported in all my outrageous moods and petty grudges, but I’m not holding my breath for that one. I am quite a erratic person, after all.

  3. I want to be listened to and acknowledged. I’m asking that my emotions be validated.
