Many women (including myself) enjoy the more traditional roles (eg, being a stay at home mom and caring for the children, cooking, planning family holidays, etc) and yet in so many relationships this also seems to open the door to gradually being treated as “less than” or even controlled by having only restricted access to family funds or being put on an “allowance” financially as a stay at home mom instead of being a true partner. I would like to know if this only happens in a subset of traditional gender role marriages or if this is the way it generally tends to go.
