The UK has a general election tomorrow. Here, you can request a postal vote for any reason, and appoint a proxy – someone to vote for you – in certain circumstances. I voted by post a couple of weeks ago. But is this common in other countries? I’m especially thinking of France, where there’s only a week between the first and second rounds.
