I flew out from Manchester to Spain last week for the GP and just flew back from Barcelona today.
On the way out through security in Manchester they took my lighter and put it in some machine, then they gave it back and that was it but I have never seen it before.
My guess is it's to check for drug residue and although I never touch hard drugs I'm sure there was plenty of green residue on the lighter but they didn't then search my bag or anything just handed my lighter back and said "have a nice trip".
Nothing like this at all coming back though.
Can anyone shed some light on exactly what this was?
