Was walking to my car at Tesco petrol station & was hit by a car and knocked to the ground, the car then sped off…what are my options?

Hi there, on Tuesday the 2nd July 2024 I was walking to my car at a petrol station forecourt when I was hit and struck down by a car which then refused to stop, the ambulance and police arrived on scene and the police officer attended and managed to view the CCTV, however he then left the scene and didn’t give me a crime reference number or the car registration plate. He just left and my girlfriend had to run after him

This was in Manchester

I have a copy of the ambulance report which includes the police officers badge number

And for the record, I’ve been signed off work for 6 weeks and have suffered damaged to
My neck, back, and ribs, so I am looking for
Compensation
