I (19M) am having a big issue with this, and have been struggling with this since childhood.

Whenever I get into an argument IRL or online (or even if I see one, particularly online), I inevitably see a side I disagree about. However, as soon as I confirm that to myself, all of a sudden I feel strong feelings of shame and doubt, and I keep thinking that I am completely wrong and just acting stupid (even if I’m 100% in the right). What’s even more annoying is that I don’t even have to vocalize my disagreement to trigger these feelings and thoughts. It feels like my brain puts up a brick wall whenever I have the desire to disagree on something.

As a consequence I’ve become very shaky about even marginally controversial topics, and have spent countless hours ruminating about them.

Can anyone relate?
