in my asian american household, dinners were usually a soup, a meat, and a vegetable eaten on rice. in this framework, are casseroles the meat and vegetable, and you eat them on bread or something? or are they the carb, and you serve them with some boiled veggies or salad on the side? or is each meal like thanksgiving dinner, with no clear star, and you make, say, 4 casseroles with equal acreage on your plate? examples of casserole-featuring meals that you typically eat are much appreciated.
