  1. Nice bird spotting this morning….hoopoes, two types of hornbill, and also a sea eagle fishing (in a lake, rather than in the sea).

There are also a lot of monitor lizards here, some of them very large!

  2. My garden looks better than I thought! The tomatoes already have some little tomatoes on them, the cucumbers look great, even the bean plants have beans on them (though they don’t have any leaves anymore, poor things). I can even harvest beetroot soon. Unfortunately most peppers and aubergines didn’t make it, after so long a period of cold and slugs. That’s very sad.

I read that Wattpad has been added to the censored websites list by “a court decision” in Turkey, but no reason was given. Wattpad is a website where writers publish both fanfiction and original works. It’s for amateur writers and has an “algorithm” (unlike web archives like AO3). I don’t really know why it was censored. Porn sites have been censored in Turkey for an eternity (which of course means nobody watches porn anymore 🙄) but… As far as I know, although Wattpad does have some erotica, it actually isn’t allowed there. AO3 has a ton more, but that’s (at least for now) still accessible. Weird.

I sometimes wish people didn’t have other options like VPN. I know it’s stupid, but as long as people have this kind of easy workaround, noone opens their mouth and says anything against all this censorship. Which really sucks.

  3. Anyone following the story of the 6 bodies found in an upmarket Bangkok hotel?

It sounds like a classic detective story….no survivors, doors locked from the inside, apparently poisoned by cyanide in the tea.
