Hey everyone,

I've been dealing with a bit of social anxiety, and I'm hoping to get some advice on how to improve my social skills. Here are a couple of examples of situations I find challenging:

  1. Meeting Acquaintances:

When I run into someone I know, I always say hi, and they'll usually ask me how I am. I ask them the same, but then they don't continue the conversation, and it's up to me to keep it going. I never know what to say next, and it often leads to an awkward silence.

  1. Reconnecting with Old Friends:

Recently, a girl l used to be friends with in elementary school visited because our parents are still friends. I felt so awkward and could barely muster out a hi. I didn't talk to her for the rest of the trip and ended up just talking to her little brother.
I really want to become a more social person and be able to have quality conversations with both people I know and strangers. Does anyone have tips or strategies that have worked for them tr ease social anxiety and keep conversations flowing naturally?
Thanks in advance for your help!
