What is the correct way to answer someone in a conversation where they are being very negative? My boss will be super self-deprecating or negative in a conversation and I just have no idea what I'm meant to say so I can continue working and not have it be awkward.
I've tried pointing out the positives or saying something that's neutral/positive to be met with more disagreement and negativity (I can see the sims social dislike thing appear above her head XD). So, genuinely what is the correct response in a scenario like that so I can get out of it unscathed? I don't think agreeing with her like "aw yeah u look awful and everything's shit" would work lol
