Help asking a girl out

here’s the thing, my spring semester was over a month ago but i really thought a girl was pretty (i’m 18, she’s 21) we exchanged instas, we chatted there a little bit and had some conversations here and there in class but never asked her out, my only option is asking her out via insta but idk if that would be the best option, what would you recommend?
