I’m a first time traveller from Australian. I thought things were expensive where I live in Perth. Boy was I wrong. Drinks are an absolute theft. 6 euro for a drink at a restaurant, that same drink would be the equivalent of 3 euro in Aus, and the sizes are comically smaller. Food is insane too, not just restaurant but even takeout. A normal cheeseburger meal is something like 10-14 euro. That’s the same as it would be in AUD. What is going on here? Are you all paid a crazy amount per hour? How do you even afford it living here?
Edit: Sorry I’m an idiot and didn’t say where I am. I’m talking about Belgium, France, Germany, Amsterdam and Vienna. Those are the places I’ve been and noticed it.
