I've known my close friend for 15 years, and I've been gifting her on her birthday for the last 14 years. Her boyfriend, now husband is also my friend and I've continued the tradition of gifting them both on their birthdays. Despite this, they've only gifted me twice in all these years. I hadn't felt anything until now because I always thought they didn't have enough money. It's not like I'm expecting costly gifts or gifts of the same value as mine. Anything would do, even a simple note. But recently, I noticed they always buy gifts for others. I know you shouldn't expect anything in return, but it hurts a bit when you see your best friend buying something for someone she met six months ago and saying that they'd like it when they're out with you. Other than this, our relationship is pretty stable. We occasionally go out and eat, have fun, and we take turns paying and all. I'm not sure what to do here. Am I being too sensitive? Any advice?
