What was your experience like if you have done this?

  1. I donate my hair every couple of years once it gets long enough, think I’ve done it three times so far?. I generally think it’s a positive experience and I like the fact that I can give something since I can’t donate blood. Basically, when I make the appointment with my hair dresser I tell them that I plan to donate my hair. When I arrive they then either braid or just tie my hair into a pony tail with two rubber bands and cut off the length that I plan to donate and put it in a plastic bag. After that it’s pretty much just a regular hair appointment and when I get home I mail it off to the charity I use. Sometimes if a couple of people are interested, I might wait till they have time to go the hair dresser and we all send off our hair together.

  2. I’ve donated multiple times. When it’s time for me to get my hair cut, I choose a salon that participates in one of the donation programs and have them donate it for me.

  3. I donate just last month for the first time. Super simple, I brought a ziploc bag to my appt, hair stylist made 4 sections/ ponytails to cut. I had filled out the online form for donation but still included a copy with my hair in the envelope and mailed it off! They emailed an “I donated” certificate to me. There was an option to buy a tshirt that said I donated and/or to send money to cover wig making costs. I do wish they could let you know if the hair was used. I donated to [Children with Hair Loss](https://childrenwithhairloss.org)

  4. I’ve donated to locks of love. I unfortunately can’t anymore due to coloring my hair. If you’re hair is Virgin and you’re wanting to cut it why not donate
