Being brief, many times I'll confess my feelings for him, like, saying how grateful I am by having him, giving him compliments, saying I hope he has a good day, etc.. and most of the time he'll say something like "thank you so much babe", instead of saying something nice back. Is this normal? Is expecting something back selfish?

To the point that I even feel a little embarrassed, as if I'm being too much. He'll only say he feels the same if I ask him if he does…
