Dating while in between jobs?

I’m (27f) currently between jobs and actively searching but also financially stable and able to afford my apartment and car just fine. I’ve been reluctant to date because I’m embarrassed to tell someone I’m unemployed. I was in a long term relationship from age 21 until a little over a year ago and its all a bit overwhelming for me because I don’t have much dating experience. How can I tell a potential date I’m unemployed? Is this a dealbreaker for most?
