I’ve had jobs before where you clock in, you clock out, and you don’t give much more than your time. You might feel undervalued at times but it’s just a job.

My career now is my passion. It is where I can take all the best parts of myself and use them to create something that makes a difference. It takes creativity, intelligence, and an incredible amount of effort and determination.

Sometimes those projects are ended beyond your control. But I can’t help feeling like a part of me dies with it. It’s brutal for me to feel.

I just wanted some advice on how to deal with this. Thanks.

  1. It’s like anything else…. After it (a project you care about getting canceled) happens enough times, you get good at detaching yourself from it. It just takes practice. 🙂

  2. I have the same issue. Then only thing that somehow works for me is to change localtion and do either something psychically or emotionally challenging, eg. Cyclings or soothing my newborn helps to detach from work.
