I don’t know what happened, but it seems like dating has gone down the shitter within the last year or so.

To start off, I'm 38/male/Asian. I'm not super attractive but when I first got on Hinge last summer, I managed to get several dates within 2-3 months. I even managed to go on multiple dates with this one gal, until she broke it off with me for reasons beyond my control. I eventually got off the Hinge train, since I was dealing with a ton of personal shit and had no mental energy for dating. Now that things have stabilized down, I got back on the online dating horse, but so far it's been a desert. I've tried Hinge again. I've even tried Bumble, and I got like two matches who messaged me, but then they ghosted me when I responded. I don't know what's happened between now and then. My profile hasn't changed. Have I "aged out" of online dating, or is it just enshittification of the dating apps?
