So I’m a female college student and went to a family friend party.

They gestured me to go upstairs to their daughter’s room which was filled with people 5-6 years younger than me.

I have never felt more awkward in my life. I’m usually really good with approaching people I’ve never met but omg I wanted to escape.

First thing that happened when I walked in-
Person 1: “WE HAVE SOMEONE UNCOVERED!”

Me: “What?”

Person 2: *with an alarmingly happy expression* “Can I please take a picture of your feet?”

Me: *chuckled nervously * “Why..?”

Person 2: “Just please?”

Person 3: “She likes feet.”

And then they just talk about her liking feet and her denying it. And it just got more awkward FOR ME the more they talked about other things, so I left.

I had no trouble talking to the adults but omg these high schoolers (freshmen) were so weird. Was it normal for me to run away lmao?

  1. Well, if the situation made you feel uncomfortable and strange I think its just fine to leave.

Now the way you leave is another part because they might get offended or something like that.

    Just my opinion always!

  2. I would just say “oops, wrong room” and leave. You’re under no obligation to stay if you don’t want to. If you feel uncomfortable, get out.
