Should I text him!

There’s a guy I like. He has a shop that I sometimes go to. Last week, he surprised me by having a really long conversation with me about random stuff. He was asking me a lot of questions and said a few flirty things (not inappropriate things tho!) I really got the feeling he was into me but I really don’t like to read into things too much. I then randomly followed him on social media and he accepted and followed me back. Cut forward to a few days ago I was crossing the road and I noticed him staring at me. I was quite embarrassed/flustered so I kind of ignored him. Idk if I should message him and let him know I’m interested in him? I’m worried I’ve misinterpreted his behaviour when he might just be friendly. But I feel like deep down he was trying to see if I was single. Idk what to do …
