I remember going to a club with friends (who were Americans) when I was in the States. (DC specifically.) While I was dancing on the floor with a bottle of beer in my hand, I accidentally dropped it. The beer splattered all over the floor, so I grabbed a bunch of napkins and started cleaning it up. However, my friends and some other people in the club came up to me and said I don't have to clean it up and could just leave it there. I found this a bit strange because, in my culture, it would be considered rude to leave a spill like that without cleaning it up at a bar or restaurant. I'm wondering if this is a cultural thing or if it was just my friends and the people at the club.
