I (21F) have been friendly speaking to a guy (21M) for a year on Instagram and Snapchat and I finally asked him to meet for tequila shots tomorrow and he declined. He said he doesn’t want to get into a talking stage right now and he doesn’t want to lead me on but he will meet me someday just not now. I’m so confused because I genuinely want to meet him in a friendly way and I always refer to him as “friend” and “bestie” whenever we text so I don’t understand where this is coming from. Does he hate me or something because I’m so confused right now. I was excited to meet a guy I’ve been occasionally chatting to but he doesn’t want to meet me (for now?) because he’s not trying to get into a talking stage (…?). We speak about football and my boy drama so I really don’t understand why he doesn’t see me as a friend. Does he hate me or something because I really feel like crying right now. It might be worth mentioning that he does find me attractive but a lot people do so I don’t think much of it. Does he mean it when he says we’ll meet someday or am I just wasting my time trying to build a good friendship?
I’m scared of discussing the topic further because I don’t want to overstep his boundaries but I’d still like some sort of clarification.
