What careers/industries become more secure as you get older?

Basically, inspired by this post , I'm wondering what paths are actually good for men on the second half of their careers. I basically feel that in anything tech or marketing related new skills are more important than experience, therefore your career consist of a constant race to upskill and compete with 25 year olds.
