After 12 years, I have just stopped being a carer and find myself with no home and little money. My role has left me completely exhausted and isolated; I haven't even been to a pub in over six years.

However, on the upside, my CV now clearly highlights transferable skills in handling bodily fluids and dealing with bureaucratic organizations.

I am currently located in the Midlands, but I would like to know if anyone could suggest an affordable and relatively nice place to live.

I have no connections or network anymore. I presume I need to look somewhere up north.

I am looking for some ideas.
