Hi – My ex at the time would occasionally reference or infer that I was cheating on him though I never gave him a reason why. This specific issue is as follows: I had an old friend from bootcamp back in 2020 and we would talk a few times a year regarding family and how the military was going. In 2023 I happened to move closer to him and we said that I would get together with him once and we could meet up and discuss how everything was going. My friend was (M35 I think) and it was purely a get-together in a public place and discuss out goals with the military.
Now enter my new BF who I just met when I moved to the area. We started hanging out and were not officially together and by this time it had been a little over two-months. I had asked him if he was okay with me going to dinner with an old friend/colleague and he expressed it was weird and was not completely okay with it because I had a boyfriend but in the end he was fine with it. Once I had gone to the dinner I got back and he told me that he was uncomfortable with it and that I'm a flirt/cheat. I told him that I was sorry and that if it made him comfortable I would no longer contact this friend anymore to which I never did again. To this day.
I also work in a male dominated field and every time I talk about a colleague, he gets suspicious and thinks I have done sexual things with them or that i think they're attractive. I have not, and I do not.
A specific one I am interested in is as follows: I was in training for military (away from home) and the whole group decided to get mexican food. I ended up getting the same thing as a collegue next to me and they were big portions. I took a photo of it to my BF of both the plates because I was showing him how big the portions at the mexican place were and that it was really good. He didnt talk to me for about 24 hours. I asked him if he was okay and said that I took the photo to make him jelous and asked why I was sitting so close to the guy adn why I got the same food as him. to this day he thinks I was flirting with the guy next to me, ignoring that their were about 12 other people sitting with us in a booth.
Was I in the wrong and am I considered a cheater?
