I was watching a video (in Spanish) about a Colombian woman trying to find an appt to rent in Spain. First of all, the competition is fierce, second, the racism is brutal and they rejected her a lot of times just for being Colombian. Then, the bureaucracy is ridiculous that even if you pay for the whole year in cash they can reject you because you don't have the "right paperwork" or a "specific contract" or are "self-employed"
So she looked into roomies instead, but they can be extremely picky, ie "I'm into fitness, so I'm looking for a roommate that is healthy, likes to excercise and is into protein drinks"
She had to leave the country even though she had a job, work authorization and money!
