For men who cheated on their wife or partner and proceeded to leave her for the woman you cheated on and prpvide the other woman everything you planned and promised your wife or partner. Why did you do it?

This is just a general question as I've noticed this happen to many of my friends.

Their husbands or partners planned their entire lives with them including holidays and their dream homes. Then these men out of the blue cheated on their wives and obviously the wives never saw this coming.

Now the wives or partners are mostly single because they can't trust men and they hear of all the things their ex are doing with the new woman and it makes them even more upset.

I just want to know if men are being petty by doing this? Because these women are genuinely hurt
