I’ve never had this happen to me before. I was leaving my job and a manager was standing at the door. I go “woah scared me didn’t expect someone to be over there” (laughing out loud) cause all the sudden he was there and I didn’t expect it.
And he goes “Do you need to be checked out or are you leaving?” And I go “oh no I’m leaving.”
And then he says, “I need to check your bag.”
I felt I misheard him and I was like “what?”
And he said, “I need to check your bag.”
Puzzled I just unzipped it and showed him and he was “okay have a good night.”
Is this normal? I’ve literally never had this happen at this job I mean I’m new here like I just started two weeks ago, but I’ve been carrying this bag the whole time. But now looking online maybe bag checks are like a thing at this place idk? It made me feel like a criminal.
Like I’m not well versed in work things and I’d been trying to get along with this guy and when he said this it made me feel like he was accusing me of stealing. Idk
