I matched with a first-year resident physician on a dating app who lives across the country. We chatted for a week before I suggested moving to Instagram or texting, and she agreed to Instagram. Our conversations there have been good, but her replies are often delayed, sometimes taking hours.

After a few days, she suggested we have a phone call, which we did a week ago. I thought it went well overall—though I did most of the talking, she asked questions and laughed, even though there were some awkward moments. In the call I suggested we meet up when I visit her city later this year, and she seemed receptive to this idea. After the call, I followed up with a message saying it was nice talking to her and suggested we chat more soon. She replied almost half a day later, saying it was nice talking and we should talk more soon.

Since then, her replies have been even slower, now taking two days or more. Even though her responses are still enthusiastic and she keeps the conversation going with questions, the delays are tough. I asked if she was free to talk this weekend, and she responded (again, more than two days later) saying she’s very busy but will let me know when she’s free.

I understand residency is demanding, but waiting two days for a reply is challenging. I don’t want to bring up the delays since I’ve already acknowledged her busy schedule on our call. I really like her, and don't want to give up this quick. How should I handle this, or should I just keep waiting?
