I understand that several US states have passed laws requiring salary transparency, but in the UK, I find it very frustrating that almost no job ads mention a salary range.
I’ve even contacted a few companies/recruiters to inquire, but about 90% of them never respond.
I’ve looked at some salary guides, but in many cases, the ranges are so vague that they’re almost useless. For example (these figures are just for illustration), £50k for entry-level, £100k for mid-range, and £150k for senior—so which one is the advertised role?
I don’t want to spend half a day applying for a job (company research, CV, Cover letter etc) only to find out it’s paying far less than expected. What do others do in this situation? I feel like I’m missing something here.
Thanks!
