Japan is brutal during the war, as they literally have zero mercy towards Allied POWs or those they imprisoned. A Japanese commander even endorsed human experimentation in a labratory (Unit 731) where both Chinese citizens and some Allied POWs were subjected to torture, plus Japan at the time is not an signatory to the Geneva convention.
