I’m not an American. 25 year old guy. I see these posts and videos of college kids having so much fun on ‘spring break’ but I have no idea which city to go to; how to find the parties etc., and also the time (is ‘spring break’ season over?)

I’m working right now and have the 4th of july weekend free, so I really wanna use that to travel and experience this! Or this long weekend if tickets are not too expensive.

Thinking panama city beach?

**Also, do I need a car to travel around in these tourist destinations?**

  1. So you do realize 4th of July is not in the Spring right?

Edit: Ocean City Maryland has a bar called [seacrets](https://seacrets.com) , and a lot of the jersey shore bars will have big parties like this. But I mean you’re kind of out of luck , college kids are out for the summer… hence the spring part.

  2. Spring break is late February through early April. The peak is the last two weeks of March.

Fourth of July will be families and lots of children. There are fireworks.

  3. Miami, Daytona, Panama City Beach and Clearwater are probably your best bets. Spring break is usually in March so you’re a bit late. The experience won’t be nearly the same. And yes you’ll definitely need a car.

  4. Panama Canal Beach sounds like a nice idea. Be sure to check visa requirements before traveling. A car would get you there, but I’d recommend flying.

  5. Spring break is during spring. Not every college has spring break at the same time, but it’s sometime in March or April and is a week long. Usually the 3rd or 4th week of March. Miami, Florida and Cancun, Mexico are popular spring break destinations.

  6. Daytona Beach. Spring break is usually in March. But also if you’re 25, I don’t know man. July 4 is not going to be spring break time.

  7. 4th of July is probably one of the busiest beach days of the year.

  8. I think florida isn’t the place to experience this in the summer.

If you want really fun parties for your age? Newport RI.

    It’s ideal.
    So so fun.

  9. I would say Miami since it’s not spring break but you also said you’re looking for not too expensive and that city is designed to siphon your money, lol.

  10. Just get as drunk as you’ve ever been, contract an STD and pass out in a litterbox. It’s all the same.

  11. Keep in mind wherever you choose, it’s not going to be wall to wall scantily clad pretty people getting drunk and making poor decisions. July 4th is a big deal, but it’s less stranger-friendly than Spring Break.

  12. Spring Break is in the early spring. February/March generally for most colleges.

4th of July is also very busy for beach communities, but it’s more of a family crowd.

Good luck finding anyplace to stay 6 weeks away from one of the busiest travel times of the year. Try a big city like Miami, they’ll have more hotels available than tourist communities.

  13. >Or this long weekend if tickets are not too expensive.

What is expensive or not expensive can be incredibly subjective. But in general, the US is not seen as a cheap vacation. You need to budget appropriately. Even moreso if you are doing travel in peak travel, such as popular spring break destinations during spring break, or the 4th of July (which even if it wasn’t a national holiday, is still in the middle of summer which is also peak season by itself).

    >Also, do I need a car to travel around in these tourist destinations?

It really depends on what you want to do and where you’re going. If you want to pay for a resort right on the beach and all you’ll be doing is go to the beach, eat at the resort, and go to the nearby bars and attractions, probably not. If yo uwant to do anything else, you’ll probably need to drive or use rideshare/taxi. The only real notable spring break destination with any decent form of city public transit is Miami.

Also if you are coming from across an ocean, worth noting that jet lag is real. For me when I went to Spain, it took most of the first full week until I adjusted to Spain’s time zone. If you’re only here for a few days, you may well spend most of the time jet lagged. I’d encourage you to book a longer trip so you can really enjoy the US without being incredibly jet lagged the entire time you’re here

  14. Spring break happens in spring and is generally only college students, you missed the boat.

  15. 4th of July? Avoid all the themeparks they will be absolutely slammed. Go to pan handle it will have less people. If you want an interesting experience go to Mexico Beach, it’s a town that was completely leveled by a category 5 hurricane a few years ago

  16. You will not get said experience in July. Spring Break is in March.

But you can experience party culture by going to Miami.

  17. Don’t go during spring break. It is much nicer and funner during periods where there aren’t as many people going in my opinion anyway.

  18. Miami, it’s not going to be cheap but you will have more fun than you would at spring break where everyone will basically be children.

You pretty much want a vehicle anywhere in the U.S. the cities are designed for cars and rural areas are rural of course. Some cities have decent public transportation but you’ll want to research that before you head out.

  19. First, it’s not spring so no spring break. Second, the Panama Canal is in the country of Panama. Panama City Beach is in the town of Panama City, Florida.

All of that aside, if you just show up to PCB during spring break you’ll probably have a decent time but you’re on the verge of being too old for that crowd, especially if you don’t know anyone. Some times things aren’t for you, this seems like one of those things. Our lives aren’t a movie.

  20. Siesta Key Beach and Daytona Beach were my favorite go toos during Spring Break. Extremely fun and not just the drinking either but the Volley Ball was fun af

  21. Go to Saint Petersburg. We have a great pier, good food nice waterfront, bars, one of the most famous museums in the world and much more. Had you come earlier you would have gotten to see the Honda Grand Prix we have every year. It’s a big deal.

  22. There’s two ways to do it.

    1. Go to a big city and crowded beaches filled with crazy people.

    2. Go to a small town and enjoy a serene vacation.

I’ve been to Florida a lot for vacations. Miami, lauderdale, ft. Myers, pcb, destin etc. I will always choose the gulf coast on the panhandle.

If you want that crazy nightlife party vibe then sure go to ft lauderdale or Miami but if you want a nice relaxing one I’d look elsewhere.

Our families go to is Santa Rosa beach area. Nice getaway. If you’re pretty wealthy go to seaside. Also, if you go to Santa Rosa you can rent a bike and get everywhere

  23. Spring break season is roughly from mid-March to mid-April, so you’ve missed it. It’s also worth noting that, when I was in college and on spring break, I would have taken great exception to someone in their mid-twenties trying to party with us. It would seem predatory, to be honest. You probably risk physical violence from drunk college guys that think you’re encroaching on “their” college-aged girls.

If you insist on still doing this, though, there are three places that are most popular. Cancun, MX, Panama City Beach, FL, and South Padre Island, TX.
