Women who became adults before having their first Bf, any advice?

So, I’m 22 and have never had a Bf. I’ve been considering entering the dating world but I am afraid that Im easily open to being manipulated due to the lack of experience and the insecurities I have about men not liking me due to my personality or appearance. Especially since the dating world seemed to have gotten progressively worse at this point in time. Any advice? I’m just so tired of the “It’ll happen when you least expect it” people.
