i want to be friends with a girl in my class. how do i go abt doing so?

there's a girl in two of my classes. she's in my 1st and 2nd period classes. i had talked to her a bit online before, but we were never rlly friends. my 1st period had assigned seats, but my 2nd period didn't. she asked to sit next to me and i said sure. she had then told me that my handwriting is rlly pretty. we also talked a bit. was she just being nice, or do u think she wants to be friends? and how should i go abt getting to know her more and becoming friends?
