I recently had dinner with my aunt and took a trip with my best friend. They both know that I have exciting things going on in my life, but I noticed that neither asked me any questions – about anything.
Other family members and friends do ask questions, and have a normal give-and-take conversation style where they are generally interested in what I have to say, but these two didn’t. My aunt only speaks of herself and I can tell that if I do talk, she’s just waiting for me to stop so she can continue telling me about herself and my best friend appeared to prefer complete silence rather than return typical conversation banter and ask me anything.
This struck me as odd and I’m trying to determine if they may subtly harbor negative feelings toward me as I know they ask others about themselves.
