Your filter is too limiting. You're always focused on trying to find the "right thing" to say and be normal, be cool, etc. I blame school. School teaches people that there is always one right answer to everything and while it's true that 2+2 always equals 4, There's no "right answer" or "right thing to say" when you're in conversation. What aim are you trying to achieve? I believe that the aim of conversation is simply to connect with people.

Coming back to the environment is key in this which is also related to being present. If I'm in the gym, there's endless gym shit to talk about. If I'm at the park, I can talk about park shit. What Is on your mind? I am so completely random when I talk to people, and what happens is that people see that I'm being authentic and I'm not forcing anything.

I'm not going to get into detail because obviously this is situational, what I will say is that the strategy of saying whatever is on my mind has worked wonders in my life. Now, if there's nothing on your mind? You're probably too anxious to be in the present moment and that's a problem for another day. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
