Attraction?

I am widowed and 62, financially independent…I just started dating- it’s been interesting to say the least. I recently met a very attractive guy 8 years younger- he is divorced though with 3 children under 18…I don’t necessarily need a rich man , but this person has to live paycheque to paycheque because of child support. He doesn’t do drugs, takes care of his elderly father and just seems to be a very intelligent, articulate person. I’m attracted to him but just not sure…I’m so confused when we are young we are told to marry successful men, but now I’m older I don’t need anyone’s money so should I just be happy with this person regardless of his financial situation?
