Hi all, I’ve recently had a new bathroom fit at home. It’s lovely. The job has been done well and everything was perfect. I came to fill the bath yesterday and have found a hairline crack around the bottom edge inside.
I now daren’t fill bath in case it leaks and floods the kitchen below and I am trying to work out what to do next? The bath has been in for less than a month, it’s been used several times and no issues so far up until the crack.
My worry is am I now liable to pay for another new bath and if I am or I’m not, am I going to be out of pocket refitting the bath and have to pay for all the tiling works again?
I’m a bit gutted and frustrated to say the least and after spending nearly 15k I just really didn’t want any drama 🤦‍♂️

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

  1. I’d get the builder back to inspect. If there’s been no accidental damage on your side, it’s reasonable to expect it to have lasted longer than that. It may not be their fault, after all; maybe the bath was faulty.

Also check your house insurance in case it’l covers you if needed.
