Context…
I've been talking to someone over the past 10 days or so, we went on a couple of dates and we both had a great time with each other, had a third date planned for this weekend.
Two days ago I meant to text one of my buddies 'Dating is expensive' and of course… it went to her. I was laying in bed, tired/exhausted and wasnt aware who i sent it to. She did not take it well stating 'Am I too expensive for you?' She says she wanted to hear what i have to say, so I explain that It was meant for one of my friends and i meant it as a blanket statement, because, well, it is expensive… just like groceries have become expensive and gas… doesnt mean I dont want to spend money on them, its just… expensive. She mentioned that I'm either playing mind games or financially pressed (neither is true, it was just a general statement) I gross $160k a year… so money is NOT an issue.
She tells me she does not believe me, and that she's suspicious. Yesterday morning after some back and forth she states we're okay and that shes just suspicious and hopes i understand, i respond appropriately saying I understand and letting her know whatever she needs to help her feel better about it to let me know. Well, we text throughout the day, and yesterday evening I did not hear from at all (which has been unusual and out of the norm since we started talking), i texted her goodnight, no response nothing (she stays up late).
So this morning I stated how extremely unfair it was that she does not believe me even asking for what i was trying to say and me communicating that. I stated I have been nothing but sincere and 100% honest and genuine with her, that I'm not playing mind games. I state that I cannot continue this and that i'm not going to try and prove myself.
AITAH for breaking it off? I dont feel its fair that prior trust issues are making such a prevalent occurrence and not believing me is really unfair after explaining myself. I explained the day prior that how if I didnt believe anything she said to me how would that make her feel?
