So my bf and I have been in an exclusive, monogamous relationship for about 4 years now. We initially had protected sex but moved to unprotected sex about 2 years ago when I got an IUD.
This year, we've been a bit long- distance and we haven't seen each other much (previously we were neighbours – so sex was regular and During all these times, nothing ever went wrong with me or my kitty. I'd never even had so much as an infection or a utility or anything (and he almost always finished in me)).
However, the last two times we had sex this year, which was about 6-8 weeks ago, I noticed something was off about my discharge. It had a weird colour and it smelled terrible. Like, it was so bad that I couldn't even accept to have sex with him again because I didn't want him to smell it. It eventually cleared up on it's own after about 5-7 days; and then we had sex again.
Almost immediately after, I realise that my kitty is having the strange, smelly discharge again. And again, it cleared up in about a week and it's been normal since.
Now initially, I thought throwing off your ph balance means you get an infection. But I wasn't in any pain and it went away on its own. Last night, I was talking to a friend who said she linked up with her fwb and that he had thrown her pH off and I'm wondering if it was the same for me?
And given how we'd never had this issue before, is that an indication that he's been with someone else recently before sleeping with me too?
I don't wanna collect an infection or worse, an STD if he's not been faithful to me. But I also don't want to accuse him of infidelity if there's another reasonable explanation for why his sperm disrupted my discharge all of a sudden.
For further context, we've had sex about 5 times total this year due to the distance and other relationship isses – 3 times before that – and on all those times, nothing changed in my discharge (just like in the past 2 years we've been doing it). It was just these last 2 times.
TLDR: been having unprotected sex for over 2 years with no problems. The last two times recently this year, my discharge was strange and smelly but it cleared up on it's own after each time and within a week. Is that upsetting my ph balance, and is it a sign of infidelity from him?
