How do you know what people mean by inviting you over?

How can you tell people’s intention when they suddenly and casually suggest you go over to their place? Like if you were hanging out together and they suggest it as an end to that day/evening. And if you accept, how long would you stay over? Or how long do you stay over till you can say whether their intentions are platonic or else?
