I've always thought of the Brocolli haircut (a perm with the sides shaved or faded) as a British fad, especially popular amongst white, male teens and highschoolers in the mid 2010s (still is).

It now looks like it has crossed the pond and is seen as the archetypal Gen Z teen haircut in America and is memed a lot online for its goofiness. When did it become popular in your opinion?
