Some background: when I was a teenager, my family used to go to Hungary where we had a little vacation home. It was in Porrogszantpál.
We became good friends with the villagers as we went a few years in a row. We were particularly close to our neighbours and one day they gifted us one of their dogs, a beautiful border collie. The dog came home with us and has since unfortunately passed – this was about 20 years ago.
He had a Hungarian name and that's what my question is about. His name sounded a lot like how you would pronounce Sochi (the city in Russia).
Any ideas if this is a word in Hungarian? Or a common dog name? Or what the meaning of this is and how it's actually spelled?
